Global recognition for SICPAGUARD® HDSense

SICCPAGUARD® HDSense, an authentication solution that enables quick and easy detection of counterfeit products, receives Good Design Award.

GOOD DESIGN, the oldest and most recognised programme for industrial design excellence worldwide has granted a 2019 award for SICPAGUARD® HDSense, an invisible authentication solution that enables quick and easy detection of counterfeit products by end-users.

Continuous innovation

“We are delighted to receive this award and the recognition for our latest brand protection solution,” said Nicola Duca, Engineering Manager at SICPA, “It’s become a reference in the industry and follows our continuous line of innovation in designing solutions that meet the ever-changing needs of manufacturers.”

Launched in June 2019, SICPAGUARD® HDSense is currently used, or under exploration for use to protect luxury goods, liquors, beverages, clothing, electronic goods, plastic parts and optical products.  The solution has been used to prove authenticity of products, and has demonstrated its effectiveness in product recall situations (including, uniquely, forensic analysis after fire or explosive incidents), in the prevention of rogue warranty claims and in the identification of weaknesses in supply chains.

Design excellence

The award for design excellence in the security and safety category was granted by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, following a record number of submissions from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms from over 47 countries.

Each year GOOD DESIGN recognises new consumer and industrial products and graphic designs for their design excellence, technological innovation, sustainability or aesthetics. SICPA’s award-winning design will feature in the GOOD DESIGN Yearbook for 2019-2020.
